Vivian Chang

Studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Graduated in Fall 2008 with a BFA degree in Photography and Imaging.

My photographic work consists of portraiture, conceptual and still life images.
I have always been impressed by painters and designers, therefore a lot of my inspirations come from looking at artists that are outside of photography. Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock are my favorite painters, I studied their use of color and the way they composite the frame of their art.

There is a concern and emphasis on the use of colors, lines and shapes in my images especially in the fine art series.

I have always love the idea of using my own hands to make an image. I love working in the darkroom and developing my own prints. Medium format are my favorite medium to shoot with but I am also trained to shoot digital with a lot of my assignments.
